- 2002 Ford Ranger Edge 4X4
Howdy Y'all!
I'm new to this site and from what I've read so far.....everybody is like one BIG Family with lots and lots of good information and advice to hand out to those like me that REALLY need a helping hand every now and again. I've got a 2002 Ranger Edge Super Cab 4X4 that I've been trying for days to decode my differential gearing. The door jam sticker says 97 which I think equates to 4:10. However, the tag on the rear differential reads as follows: top line: 4 1088 2A25, bottom line: V 3308. The only part I've been able to decode thus far is (at least I think so) is 2A25 which equates to 2002 January 25th. I believe this to be the date of manufacture. The rest of the numbers/letters are all greek to me! Oh WOW! Sitting here typing this.....I just figured it partially out! 4 1088 equates to 4:10 gears with an 8.8 differential. See how smart this site has already made me!
