My wife has backed into a parked car. The insurance estimate is less than the deductable for the replacement of the rear bumper cover.

I think I can get one at a salvage yard.

My question is: Is this a dif###ult job, any special tools needed? Does anybody have any advice on how to complete this work.

Thanks

I too experienced the same problem recently...I will be replacing my rear bumper cover as well. I made some temporary repairs to mine until the weather breaks. From what I have seen so far, this does not appear to be a difficult job... You will need a few different size sockets and a ratchet; and a body panel tool (looks like a screwdriver with a wide, flat surface and a circular cutout in the center) to pull the push in fasteners out.
From what I can see so far this is what you need to do:
1) remove the taillights to expose the bolts holding the cover on at the various points.
2) remove the black step cover
3) remove the bumper cover
4) relpace with new cover and reverse the process.

If there is more involved and anyone else knows anything I've missed, please feel free to jump in and say so...

Good luck!
