2002 stereo system build

about how many square feet of damp pro material did you use?
I didn't get around to doing the ceiling, but that might happen this winter....have to find time. I didn't keep perfect track of my useage, but I think I went through a trunk pack, and two bulk packs.

also what did you do to stop that rear window rattle? i'm sure you know what i mean.
I guess I deadened it better than I thought. I haven't noticed any rear window rattle, sorry. Though I didn't take any pics of the area, I did add DP to the rear-most pillars. Maybe that had something to do with it. I also added DP to the rear hatch. I didn't remove the mechanism inside the rear hatch, but I...carefully... placed a layer behind the mechanism. There is only about .75" of space behind it, so I had to be realllly careful. As you know, once it sticks....

I also removed the plastic trim piece on the window, and used OK Pro & spray glue to avoid what you are talking about. It must have worked.

you can watch my rear window flex and rattle so bad haha its the glass half that lifts up that i can't stop. the only "ghetto" fix i found was an army sock rolled up and closed in the window

I think you run a bit more bass than I do. There is ONE sure fix that I know of, and one, only. You would have to delete the rear window completely. You can install a back up camera, for a rear view, and a braced, piece of steel primed & painted to match the vehicle, and fab some sort of attachment method for the lower portion, AND the sides, too. The top can be secured with the factory latches. A custom body shop can do this, but you have to specify exactly what you want.

OR, leave the window. Use blackout tint, on the glass. Use a piece of braced steel, and cut the plastic around the window of the rear hatch. Mount the steel to butt up against the frame of the rear hatch. Then you would have to SEAL this to the frame of the lift gate. By sealing it, you would stop airflow from pushing the window around. However, you would still need a back up camera.

Other than that, it's just live with the flexing, I guess.

i'm still looking at the 4th gen tail gate right now but i'm gonna look into other mods to fix this. i already have a backup cam that runs like a review cam whenever i'm driving. i tow my bike a good amount so i like keeping an eye on it.

you have a very inpressive build goin i can't wait to see the completed project keep us posted

Well, not much to finish. I spent a good deal of time tuning. I settled on x over points of 62 hz/ 6db slope, for the HP. And, 50 Hz/ 18db slope, for the LP. Needed the "gap" in response to bring down the 50 hz range. It was so overpowering in that region, I couldn't EQ it out. Sounds great now, though. I'll have to get it measured for SPL.

I love your system Good Job man and How long did it take you to do everything?
