Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone out there has had to have their rear differential rebuilt out of warranty by Ford. If so how much did it cost (if i'm not being to nosiy)? I have an 02 and I think mine is going. Just wanted to get a figure so I won't be shocked when I take it to the shop. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Jimmy

If it needs a rebuild, new gearset, seals, bearings, labor 6 hun

The gear set probably is fine, but they may want to replace them just to be certain. Is the dealership doing this or a local shop? I'd say anywhere from $4-700!

I was wondering the same thing. My rear is howling pretty loud and it's quite annoying when I go on trips on the interstate. An axle seal recently started leaking and I had to pay $300 to get seals put in. I probably would have been better off just to have had the whole works done while they were at it.

Yup, cause they will probably still put new seals in.
