I have noticed my 4.6 with 146,000 miles is burning some oil between oil changes. So I've been reading about PCV could be allowing some oil to go by it. I went and got a replacement t today from Advance Auto and it was a bright blue plastic piece. I took my old one off with a 13/16 open end wrench and it must be original. The end that goes into the valve cover was of course filthy with oil but didn't look to be in bad shape otherwise. The valve still moved and rattled. But my question is all the replacement parts I have seen are the same bright blue like the one I installed -even the Motorcraft one shown on Rock Auto, but my original was a grey color. The new part fit fine and side by side they look identical except the color.
