My 2003 Eddie Bauer V8 has never had the best fuel economy. I remember getting at least 17 MPG in the past though. I am now showing 11 MPG on the display.

I have recently replaced all spark plugs and coils, put in a new Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor. The engine started to run smoother. I had a friend who is an automobile computer diagnostic specialist. He thought the engine was running mostly smooth but found the 2-2 O2 sensor was running a little rough. I replaced both downstream O2 sensors. The engine is now running very smoothly but still showing 11 MPG. What should I try next to get my fuel economy back up to where it should be.

A little more info. I have yet to run a full tank through since doing all the work and I do not drive this car very often. It is currently on the street with my trailerable sailboat behind it, parked on a hill so I can not get an accurate fuel read by running a tank through it and computing my MPG. I am just looking at the fuel flow on the display so far, which may or may not be accurate.

Well you need to do some driving for ECM to start adjusting to what has been done. Also, reset your MPG to get the latest. If you tow anything don't even think about MPG.

Thanks Joe,
Figured it might be the computer needing to update.

Whats the ECM?
How do I reset the MPG?

I am not really driving it but keeping it parked with the boat attached to keep the boat from rolling down the hill I live on. When I finish the boat project the boat will go back to storage and I will run a full tank through it to see what kind of mileage I am getting.
