Ok I am looking at a balck 2003 EB explorer and it has 102k miles on it. They want 8grand but I think I can talk down 500 at least because I will pay with cash. I am just wondering if the 03s have a alot of problems with them. This is also a v6. Thanks.
7.5k for a v6 EB '03 with that many miles is asking for trouble unless it was a highway only and garaged constantly. Id have to say try looking elsewhere.
I also seem to recall that 2003 may have been a trouble year but I'm not sure, someone else can probably get at that for you. I found my 98 sport with the same amount of miles in REALLY good condition for 1800. Keep looking around as there are alot of great deals on trade ins and such.
Ohh man but this is from a dealer though. Idk what to do cause I can't seem to find 1 in my price range 9gs is my limit I really like the 02 styles and up. Can't seem to find 1 in Fall River, Ma
I have or should I say my college age daughter has an 03 xlt v6 with about 130,000 miles. We've owned it since new and it was my wife's road warrior car when she was commuting 90 miles a day up and down Rt 78. It's had just average care over it's life span and I just had it it's first transmission flush at the dealer a month ago. It was also necessary at that time to replace the rear wheel bearings and rebuild the rear differential. I replaced the front wheel bearings myself a couple of months prior. The car has been flawless in it's operation other than a diff leak that was fixed under warranty back when it was a youngster. Also several years ago my wife was rear ended on 78 by a Honda. It totaled the Honda and it was necessary to replace the rear bumper cover (small tear) and the trailer hitch had a minor bend. I'm sure not every 03 owner willgive such a glowing review, but I think they had these cars pretty well sorted by 03. That being said when my wife thought of trading in the Explorer when buying a new Subaru they offered her a whopping $2,000.00 for it. (Front wheel bearings were making a racket) I decided to keep the old girl. so just bear in mind what dealers are paying for the 03's they are taking in trade.
I paid $6k for my '03 EB V8 with maintenance history and new Ford Transmission at 90k. It had 135k on it when we bought it. We love it. We'll replace bearings when the time comes.
Just bought an '03 Eddie Bauer in white, v6, 2wd, but other then that it hnik it has all the options other then the curtain airbags. 103k miles, great condition. $5000.
