Hi, I have a 2003 explorer and none of the power windows work. I have already changed the CB/Fuse. Anyone have any ideas

No other problems, just the windows, the power locks work just fine. the windows don't work from the drivers door or from the switchs on any of the doors, do you know if all the grounds run through the main panel in the drivers door?

There should be a ground wire in there, although your model is newer, and might be integrated with the harness plug. I know they've made several changes on the newer models. Maybe somebody else on the forum with a 2003 year model will read this, and give you a more definite answer. It's not that hard to open the area where the power window switches are.

Has anyone looked at the master switch?

I'll bump this... as I have a similar problem.

But in my X its just the rear drivers door window that doesnt work. Actually sometimes it does, sometimes it doesnt. When it does not work, it doesnt work from both the drivers door and the rear door switch. When it does work, both switches work.
I havnt figured out the pattern yet of when it does or doesnt work... but it alwasy seems that it doesnt work when I have a reason to put down the rear window.

I believe the circuit is still the same for all the latest Fords. The power all goes to the master switch(blue/black stripe). The ground all goes to the master switch(black), and mounts to the LF kick panel(bolt).

If either of those two wires is interrupted back to its source, nothing will work. Dig into the LF master switch panel to check those two wires after checking the fuses.

When a single switch doesn't work(not LF) it is usually that switch. If both the master switch and another don't open a window, it's likely the master switch. Regards,

Check the switch. This happened to my friends 2002 about 2 years ago. Her window was stuck down.:thumbdwn: I jumped the harness so we could get it up until she got a new switch.

I sarted a thread on the same problem with a 2003 Explorer I looked at. My suspicion is the wiring since the windows and the mirrors don't work but the locks do.

Check the other thread. I fixed the windows by repairing the wiring (heavy black ground broken) and the mirrors a was a fuse. WAH-LAH, like new again.

In my 2003 XLT the power mirrors work the door locks work but only for the rear doors and hatch. You can hear the front door mechanism engage to lock/unlock the front doors but it does not open the doors.
The windows have worked on occasion (hesitate to try, don't want a window left open), have changed the CB/Fuse that took care of the problem so I could close a window that was stuck open, then nothing. Help???

Welcome aboard!! :salute:

I had similar electrical issues with my '02 XLT. The dome lights would stay on until the battery saver feature turned them off, the accessory delay wasn't working, the driver side puddle light didn't work, the keypad on the door would set off the alarm when I pressed it, the door ajar light would flash and beep at highway speeds, the radio would shut off as soon as I turned the key off, the alarm would beep twice when I armed it. Recently all 4 windows stopped working. Most recently the driver door lock actuator stopped working.

A lot of electrical issues can be traced back to broken/damaged wire(s) in the boot between the body and the driver's door. I found 3 broken wires and repaired them. The thin black ground wire was broken and after repairing it all was back to normal. When the windows stopped working, I repaired the thick black ground wire and the windows now work like a champ. I had to repair the pink/black wire to fix the driver door lock actuator.

Here is the thread for removing the door panel: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums//showthread.php?t=303524

Here is a great thread for checking for broken/damaged wires, thanks to synyster for this awesome write-up: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums//showthread.php?t=270081

Unfortunately the pictures are no longer available in the above thread. IIRC, I believe I unwrapped the wires enough to gain access. When I have gone searching in there I had an idea of what wire I was looking for. I located the the wire I was looking for and gently tugged on that wire on the door side. The wire was pulled toward me and out of the harness. I then went inside the vehicle and gently tugged on the the wire I was looking for and was able to pull it inside the vehicle. I then spliced a length of wire to the 2 ends, completing the circuit. I then gently pulled the excess into the door.

Be sure to take your time when looking for broken/damaged wire(s). Check all the wires for breaks/damage. When you think you're done looking, look again, and again, and again. A bright flashlight can be very helpful.
