My 2003 Sport Trac 4X4 is starting to make what I consider a grinding noise as I make a hard left turn, but goes away as the wheels straighten out.
It sounds almost like the old drum type brakes when the brake shoes were down to the rivits ( that shows you how old I am!)
I replaced both upper & lower ball joints last Oct and replaced the brake pads & rotors at the same time. I am thinking front hub / wheel bearing. I did stick my fingers thru the holes on the front wheels and the rotors are hot, not warm, to the touch after I parked it. Ol' Red just turned 100K.
Three questions..how long before it gets dangerous to drive ,your hub/ bearing recommendations and should I consider replacing both front hubs now or just the drivers side?
I had such good luck at Rock Auto and will be ordering soon if that is my problem. Thanks in advance...
