Hey all,
You guys and gals seen pictures of the new Mach 1?
That is one sweet looking car, 300+ horse, shaker hood.
Sure would like one.

I like the new Ford GT40 better. =) They are going to build it starting 2003... I want one sooo bad... How nice would it be to have my White X next to a White GT40. I'd even get rid of the Stang for it!!! To bad I'd never be able to afford one.

I agree..the gt40 is a sweet ride. I really don't care for the Mach1 all that much. Same style stang, with a shaker hood, some more ponies, and retro gauges.....I think they need to do something more with the styling.

Which new stang comes with the independant rear? Type R?

oh man that gt40 is nice. but its going to be really expensive. Fords got to have some cars like nissan where you get a ton of hp for what you pay for. its sad that the mustangs are only doing 240 hp out of a v8 and the altima v6, maxima v6 are putting out 245-255

Yeah, but I think the 4.6 can take a hole lot more mods then that nissan can. It's like the nissan motor is pushing it. It's like having a nascar motor. Why not put NOS in it to make it faster? Well that motor is already at it's prime, and the odds of putting NOS in it, it's likely to blow the motor. I think it's the same principle. The 4.6 you can do alot off stuff to get 1000hp out of it, but there is no way you can get that from the Nissan motor. You can only do so much to that nissan motor before it will start failing (granted you can add NOS and a turbo and stuff)

I agree they zford should be a little more spruced up from the factory, but this way you can add the mods you want or retain factory 8 cyl with decent gas milage. I hope it all made sence.

The disappointment I found was the 275hp Chevy Trailblazer. I wish out X's had that many ponnies!!! Also, my mechanic said it's sooooo easy to get 400hp out of that particular chevy motor.

Yeah im not saying that, but still if those v6's are pushing that much power, most people are going to buy them (most of the population buys cars not to mod). So i just think the mustang needs more power to be more marketable. Right Now it has the special versions but I still think with nissans z car with 286 hp and the g35 pushing out a ton of power, the stang should be bumped up from the factory. And I dont know, some of these little 4 and 6 cylinders can handle a lot more than you'd think

Oh I agree completely with everything you said. Do you think the reason they don't push out more power is because the gas/emmisions regulations?

I know what your talking about as far as these little motors go. I have a v6 stang pushing 300hp from 150hp stock with a grand in mods. I use to be the only non Mitsubishi car in Club DSM (Nation wide car club), but those things were awesome ecpecially with the all wheel drive. I dragged race for 3 years back when import racing was at it's peak. By far I'm no expert in this suject matter.

I mean we here in the states especially in Cali get screwed with all our regulations. Have you seen Fords oversea cars and rally cars? AWD, Turbo's, shees, must be nice. All in all I think it's time Ford released alittle more muscle to the consumers to pass up the competition again.

trailblazer.... HA!

The only reason that I can see they named it that is because it will go into a blaze of smoke once it hits the trails. Don't they only come with a v6?

believe so

I do believe Motortrend said GT40 should be about 125,000... Pocket change if ya ask me

Yeah, the Trailblazer is only a 6 cyl, but unfortunately it can out tow us and out brake us, they have a good brake system. =(

Actually it is an I-6...

Anyone here know why the GT40 is named the GT40?

and....the new GT40 isn't really a GT40

I have to go......

the GT40 was 40" tall so they named it "GT40"

the new Gt40 is actually only 39" tall

take that back...

I did not know it was an I-6... they can be very powerful engines. My parents still drive their 93 LandCruiser (55,000mi) and I beleive it has 240bhp! Think that's why J**ps got our sohc v-6's...

yo lowd..i emailed you.. but my question is do you still have your mac intake? im thinking of getting one, but if you had urs, i would like to buy it.. ?

On Speedvision today they said that they were only making about 100 the first year. After that they might go out. They also had the new lamborghini on. The Murcielago. 0-60 in 3.6. A mere $273,000

no response...

jssong - Sorry I didn't respond, I have been running all over. I sold the intake to another explorer buddy who was around here, where I live. Sorry man. But check ebay, they have some better ones now and you can get the intakes in different color chromes and stuff. It would have been yours if I had. Enjoy!
