2003 Sport Trac EGR Sensor

my truck is running really rough. It's like it's choking. It doesn't happen all the time, but seems to be worse after I've been driving for a long period of time. A friend who has an 02 Sport Trac said his was doing the same thing. Said he replaced the EGR Sensor and has been running fine ever since. I went to auto parts store, told them what I needed and took it home. Problem! What I have on my truck is NOT what is supposed to be on my truck. They don't look the same, aren't wired the same. I went to another parts store and asked for the same thing. Still not what I've got on my truck and no one seems to know why. Anyone come across this problem or any suggestions on what to do next?

Well, you could take a photo of what you have in the truck and the part you were given so we can take a look.

The Motorcraft catalog lists both of these for an '03 Trac. Mine has the DPFE-4 on it.
