2003 Transmission Issue

1...O/D light blinking 170K 2003 4.6 4x4 Explorer with 55W trans
2. Jerks when going into reverse ( reverse does work )
3. Down shifting at random....at startup and on road.....all mph

Just had solenoid pack replaced with Ford OEM pack....still doing the above...

Shop ( non-Ford ) does not have a clue what to do except have a new, rebuilt trans installed to the tune of $2700.

Any suggestions???? Other than this the truck is cherry....College student on a budget

2003 Explorer should use 5r55s not 5r55w transmission. What codes are in the pcm?

Here are the codes for the R55S transmission that is slipping....
P0731
P0732
P0733

Any help is appreciated...maybe the wrong solenoid pack?

I would say internal failure. The codes indicate wrong gear ratio 1,2 ,3.
