2004 Explorer Eddie Bauer with a remote start problem.

Good day.

I purchased a 2004 explorer eddie bauer 4.0 the other week. The salesman ensured me that it did have a car starter, factory installed. It doesn't work. All that happens when I hit the button on the remote is the exterior lights flash once. When I have the key in the "run" position, but the engine is not running, I press the start button and the horn honks twice. Any ideas what might be the issue with the starter? Thanks for the help.

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the stock 2002-2005 section. Which brand does it say on the remote?

Maybe take it back to that salesman and ask him to show you how it works. I have a feeling he won't be able to do it either.

Is it a regular Ford key fob?

Might be dealer installed, not factory, you need to check if it's a full system, or just an add on to the factory keyless system.
With as little info as you provide on your post, it's hard to know what the issue is...
