2004 explorer timing chain rebuild

Hi i did everything according to the book on redoing the timing on a 2004 explorer 4.0 sohc. But when a rotate the engine by hand there is a clicking noise at the rear timing chain. I noticed that the chain goes loose on the opposite side of the tensoner and then goes tight. does anyone know what could be the problem? Could it be that the tensioner is not oil pressurized?

yes, if you didn't prime the tensioner then it isn't oil pressurized (if you want to do that there are a lot of youtube videos on how to do it).
