2004 Explorer
My name is Jeff and i recently purchased a 2004 explorer for my youngest son who will be attending collage next year at FSU, his older brother also is a fershman so i have two in school at the same time. Aaron my youngest son wanted the explorer out of all the others because of the room and look. he is 6'6" and he fits perfectly in it. I do have a problem with the two passenger windows not operating and want to fix it myself but need a little guidance if anyones intrested.

Can anyone help me with the window problem, i tested the power and have it all the way to the motors on both windows. Could it be a ground problem?

Drivers side window quit working

Thanks for the reply! The two driver side windows wont operate however everythig else does. All fuses are good, i have good power at the light blue/black wire going to the switches and going through them, i have power at the connector going to the motors and i checked the ground from the black wire at the switch to the door frame and have continuity. Everything leads up to the motors being burnt out but why would both drivers side window motors go at the same time? I thought that perhaps the the window lock out switch had something to do with it but when i lock it i still have power to the motors and the passenger side windows still operate. I am missing something and cant figure it out.

it sounds like you checked the most common problems. But its very common there is a broken wire in the rubber boot in the door jam. Might want to check those wires, maybe its broken causing a short to ground. . . .i thought it was run all the way back to the motors, I'd check that side too.
