Carlos,
I just had the same thing with my Explorer Sport this past week. If you turn your key to the RUN or START and the THEFT light flashes rapidly, then the problem is most likely with the Passive Anti Theft System (PATS). The key has a chip in it and when you stick it in the ignition, the Transiever (Halo) which is around the ignition lock reads the chip code and sends the code to the PCM. If the code is correct, the vehicle will crank and start. If the code can't be read or is the wrong code, well; your vehicle thinks you are trying to steal it and won't crank! Either the key lost its code and you can try your spare key and see if that works. If not, then the Transciever went bad and can't read the chip, or, the PCM is bad.
I changed out the Tranciever and it cranked right up. The Tranciever will go out with no warning and is common to just go bad. New one at Ford was $41.00 and took me 10 minutes. Hope this helps.
