My 2004 Explorer recently started to making a whining noise from the rear end and would jerk really hard when placed in reverse(not to mention the 4x4 light strated to flashing randomly). Of course the dealer wanted $90 just to tell me why the light was flashing. Anyway yesterday the noise from the rear end got worse; this morning I went to look up under the rear to see if I could see anything and low and behold the cover on the rearend was cracked. My question is two fold 1st can I use JB WELd to reseal the cracked part of the cover and refill it with "dope" to get by for at least another week? 2nd will this require a rebuilld for the rear end or just a new cover? Thanks in advance
