2004 Sport Trac ignition start issue

I'm having an intermittent issue...new battery, head lights, dash lights all light up and work...ignition won't respond, won't start, won't turn over, no clicks, no sounds...just won't turn over and even attempt to start. After an hour of searching the internet...went out, inserted the key and it started right up.

Help?

That's weird. Could the system finally responded with the new battery.
