2005 front diff leak

I'm new to this forum
My 05 Explorer Limited w/27K miles is leaking from the front differential input shaft seal area.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I am taking it back to the dealer (damn I hate having to do that) next week because I originally got a 7 year extended warranty (w/$100 deductible).

I'm also going to have them look into the issue of why my gas Gage reads empty when there is routinely 7 gal. of fuel left in the tank (presuming that there really is a 23 gal. tank) and also why the horn has always sounded as if it cost 15 cents.

Oh, and also why the factory paint robots missed the roof edges in the creases

has anyone else had any of these issues?

I'm not too sure about your other problems but I can tell you about the fuel gauge issue. My 2005 Mountaineer holds 22.5 gallons but shows E on the "Miles to Empty" digital readout and on the analog gauge when 19.5 gallons have been used. I took it to the dealer to be checked and they told me it is normal, that the remaining 3 gallons is a reserve. One time I tried running the car after it hit "0 Miles to E". It kept going with no problem for 35 miles and then I filled it up. Didn't want to screwup the fuel injection by running completely out of gas. I'm not sure why 7 gallons is left in your Explorer though when it's displaying E- definitely doing the right thing taking it back to the dealer. Good luck bro...

more problems are coming

I just turned 50K in my '05 and have had both rear wheel bearings and the left rear differential seal replaced. Now my front differential seal and the oil pan gasket is leaking. Oh, and my rear differential makes a nice humming noise when I get to 40mph+ under accelleration, so that will cost $800+ to repair. If it weren't for the fact that I can turn my heater control knob down a little to stop the loud clicking and still have heat, an $1100 fix, I would put this Ford piece of junk out of it's misery. I can't wait to cut my losses and sell this white elephant. I suggest you do the same before yours starts to fail. It will. There are sooo many more problems with this model that Ford knew about.
