Front diff. leaking

Just noticed it this morning. Not bad though. Leaking from the pinion seal. My question is will they need to take the front cover off or, can they pull the shaft and get the seal that way?

i just had mine done in my 04 under extended warrenty.

My thoughts are they drop the drive shaft, remove some nut, pry out the old seal, put in the new one and put back on the drive shaft.

Yep, Im with ya. I was kinda hoping they would take the cover off so I could get the diff serviced for free. Man, Im loving my warranty. $1200 spent 11months ago. Had a $500 charge for the blend door a month ago. Now that seal and a passenger side window motor this month. Id be willing to bet thats another $500 charge. Only $200 left and I'll be even.
