I've been eying the magnaflow system and wondered if anyone on here has a soundclip of it on their ST?

Also...

Are there any other exhaust systems that sound good that would fit my '05? Doesn't matter to me if it's single or dual exit, and I don't want a system that is crazy loud. I just want something that has a nice rumble. I've only looked into the Magnaflow system so far because I had one of their cat-backs on my 2004 Mach 1. I love their quality, but am open to anything that works.

Magnaflow's seem to be favorites with the Sport Trac folks. There's also the "Dynomax Super Turbo muffler, $45 from Amazon. Some have reported up to 3mpg gains."

i got single in and dual out flowmasters but they are the 40 series it sounds loud and deep but i dont got a sound clip of it.

i need to get one eventually

I'll try to get a clip up I got the magnaflow short muffler i like it

I just did a Flowmaster Delta 40 and love it. I was looking for the same results, a nice sound without an annoying, I'm trying to be a V8 or diesel facade.

If you want to remove the resonator after the muffler in the tailpipe I would recommend this tailpipe. Here are links to the parts I used.

The tailpipe is a Dynomax and doesn't have the resonator, it also has the stock hangers welded on as well as a chrome tip. You'll have to order it and then go pick it up from your local Napa, but it's the right part for the job, ya know.

The stock muffler I believe was 26" whereas the Flowmaster is 20", so for the connection from the muffler "out" to the Dynomax tailpipe I used

It's all in what you're looking for. My goal was to not break the bank and not sound like something it's not, but to add a nice sound and rumble. Granted, it's not a dual out system, and it's not as loud as straight pipes, but for around $200 in parts and a Saturday's worth of wrench time, you have a pretty decent sounding exhaust setup.

As a side note, before you bolt everything up I wish I would have sprayed the whole setup with some high temp flat black.

I've got single in single out magnaflow. It sounds good I think from inside and outside for a V6. If you want to know what it sounds like, go to this link http://www.magnaflow.com/04sound/04trucks.asp and then listen to the ranger's exhaust. It sounds similar to that but deeper.

I have a Gibson exhaust, it sounds nice and was easy to install. The only dual-out system I'm aware of for Sport Tracs is from Heartthrob, J.C. Whitney sells it.

Love my Dynomax. Hated the Gibson.

Hey, so first off I would like to apologize for reviving a dead thread, but I got thinking..

I've been looking around for a good magnaflow muffler single-in-dual-out but I can't find anything I think would work.

So far I'm liking the sound of the flowmaster 50 single-in-dual-out one's I've heard on youtube and such, but I haven't seen anything for magnaflow.

The reason I'm so partial to magnaflow is that I had a full magnaflow system on my old 2004 Mach 1 and I loved it. So I would prefer to stick with that brand if possible.

...ideas?

All I got is a magnaflow single in single out, but it sounds good real good. It's not not obnoxious just loud enough I can enjoy it, just loose the resonator. I don't know if that was helpful.

Second to what tuba said, i have the same system. Just because it sounds good on your Mach 1, doesn't mean you will like it on your ST although I like the Magnaflow compared to the Flowmaster.

Go with a spin tech pro street 9000. I love mine and it probably weighs about 50lbs less than the stock system. It has a custom sound like no other exhaust I've ever heard.

Here's a link to a guys exhaust on his 4.0L SOHC ranger

caseyc- that clip makes it sound like a muscle car. i'm intrigued!

ordered, that sounds amazing

yeah...if i didn't already have a magnaflow i'd probably order one.

I heard from guys they were very popular with the Rangers, so I had to get one for my ST and I am very happy with it. Super small and light, and sounds amazing!
