well it's been awhile but I've finally removed the engine from the explorer. Got it out yesterday and dismantled it. #1 had a broken top ring no damage to bore, second cylinder on drivers side had hydro locked and bent the rod, worth a photo and I will try to supply one today. The injector on that hole had filled the intake full of fuel, as found when manifold removed. All bearings and bores look great. I'm going to rebuild. The rig has 185k on it but has new or rebuilt parts enough to make it worthwhile in my opinion. Will mic check bores but plan on just new pistons. rings and bearings and have head serviced. Good rebuild kits recommendations? Worried about injector control problems' will be using new ford injectors this time ,got remans last time. much more to say but that's enough for now. I cleaned the throttle body then se not to do that need to replace. link to proper thread ?
