The other morning while waiting at the car pool spot, the volume just started increasing on the radio. I was watching the half dots move to the right and I was not moving the knob.

Any one have this issue, or an idea? Is this a computer issue, maybe needs to be reset. There are no signs of car problems.

I also have a Code Alarm remote starter. Probably 50 percent of the time it will start. The other times it'll just honk at me.

I believe my 04 has an adjustment for interior cabin noise that will automatically increase the volume for road noise and will decrease it when you come to a stop. Maybe some failure with that?

The speed sensitive volume won't show up on the radio's display when it does its thing as you drive. I'd venture to guess possibly a sticky steering wheel switch, or perhaps even something like a pinched/rubbed thru wire in the clockspring in the steering column. I had a Caravan at the dealership with a similar problem, and started thinking it could be the clockspring. Later on that day, the airbag light came on, which confirmed my suspiscion. Replaced the clockspring, and both worked fine once again.

I don't have steering wheel controls for the radio. I was sitting still so it couldn't have been the road noise. Not sure really.

I plan on taking it in to have checked out.

I've noticed the volume control on the OEM radio is ineffective at adjusting the volume. I don't have steering wheel controls, nor do I have speed sensitive volume.
