2006 4.0L 4x4 5 speed. Towing capacity.

Hi All,
Well, today I'm trading in my 1998 Splash (Great Truck,184,000 care free miles) for a 2006 Ranger Sport, 4.0L 4x4. It has the five speed tranny. I'm curious what the towing capacity is.

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the towing section. The owner's manual should say what the towing capacity is.

Maximum trailer weight is 2840-3280 depending on suoercab or not and wether it has FX4 package.

GCWR is 7,000 lbs with 3.55s or 4.10s gears. Subtract the weight of your truck from that 7000 to get towing capacity. That number seems a little low to me though, my ranger wiht a 2.9 and 3.73s was rated at 6000
