Hi all - I am new to the forum, well a two year lurker really. :wavey:
AND I would really appreciate your patience with me with this question.

I have a 2006 Explorer XLS with the stock CD player, see image below, and would like to use the AUX input. I do not have a CD changer, navigation, rear DVD, or anything like that currently.

The question I have is - are there RCA jacks on the rear of this unit connected to the AUX input button on the front? I am wanting to use it to connect an audio device for music, podcasts, etc...

I saw this while searching for options... if there are RCA jacks on the back would this not work?

If there are not RCA jacks, what can I use to connect audio to the AUX input?

I have searched this forum, but I am guessing my GoogleFu is weak, I found the thread showing how to pull the head unit and a half photo of the rear of the unit, but...

THANKS IN ADVANCE... :chug:

ETA: Do images not show up for POST #1??

i'd double check the back of the radio and make sure there is a 20-pin plug in the back. You should find 2 wires, maybe more. If so then you would need this or something like it.

i just looked at the back of my stock radio for a 2007 xlt. it had sirius, and the sound upgrade.

it doesnt have any rca inputs though, so im guessing that since sirius was using the aux input on the radio it had to go through one of the stock harnesses. one main harness for the radio power and speakers, one harness for the sub and amp, and then the other harness for sirius.
