I'm new to posting on this site but here goes; this vehicle has 72k miles and has developed a moderate, rhythmic "thunking" noise that I feel through the chassis...it occurs in gear going down long stretches and becomes more pronounced when downshifted to 3rd. My brother suggests CV joint problems...I wonder if you'd agree?

From reading different posts on this site, I think CV joints will show signs of wear while turning and not while going straight. I would suspect wheel bearings, differential gear, or even bad tires.
