I've got a 2006 mountaineer that I'm having a shift problem with. Once again I can't get out of park unless I use the manual override. I've replace the shift module at least twice. The last time was less than a year ago. Any educated guess' why this happens. I do have another electrical issue but I don't see how the could be related. My climate control module is dead, no display, buttons don't do a thing.

Check all your fuses, I like to also use a test light to check for power on both sides of a fuse with the key on too.

You should check for power and ground at the shift lock solenoid, if its getting power and the ground is good the problem should be in the solenoid. If no power then I would supply power to see if the lock works and the same with the ground, by now you should have a better idea on where the problems is and what needs to be done.
