Hello All, I came across this forum while searching for answers about my explorer looks great.

2 days ago the airbag light stayed on after I started the car, then was off the rest of the day. This morning the car would not start, I am assuming it is the battery, because of the click click click, I hear...

I noticed other threads mentioned this is probably the battery, just thought I should double check before heading to Walmart. Any other ideas?

Thanks and take care,
Doog

You are right. The weak battery is the reason for the the airbag light.

Second what Lukas said. I had better luck with AutoZone batteries. I bought one few years ago, and since I plow, I draw them deep, so I had it replaced already twice at no cost.

Thank you for the confirmations..... I have an update, wen't to remove the battery so I could take it and have it tested and noticed there was a lot of "crusty" stuff around the positive terminal.... Grabbed gloves and a towel and wiped most of it off..... The explorer started up after this with a slight hesitation.....

Should I suck it up and go buy a new battery, sounds like autozone works well or just keep an eye on the "acid" buildup?

Thanks again,
Doog

Better buy a new one now. And don't waste more time in testing.
My 2007 Explorer got the second new battery six month ago.
I think I have to buy a new one about every two years.
Try to get battery with more than two years of warranty.
