I did some serious research trying to decide between purchasing a 2007 Explorer ro Trailblazer. I have two small children and needed to upgrade to an SUV for the room, safety, etc. My wife and I were pretty much solf on the Trailblazer mainly because we are eligible for a GM discount and we were getting the Trailblazer for a heck of a price. While we were driving the T.B. I asked her to stop at the Ford delaership to crompare it with the Explorers. I have always been a huge Ford guy (I have had many ford pickups and I still have a 2000 F150). Anyway, as we began comparing the two SUV's it was readily apparent that the Explorer had the Trailblazer beat by miles! I could go on and on about what a better vehicle the Explorer is from the full boxed frame, to the standard side airbags, to the 3rd row seating, etc etc. Even though the Explorer cost us more we decided to go ahead and purchase it. You should have seen the salesman's face when we brought the Trailblazer back along with a new Explorer! This Explorer is so quiet, comfortable, convenient and luxurious that we are completely satisfied with our decision. I just wanted to share this with everyone in case anyone else may be looking into choosing between the two vehicles. Ford won me over this time, hands down!

Me too, there was no comparsion in my eyes either. I'm glad I got the best vechile for my family.

No comparison.. We used my buddies rental Trail Blazer to tow my snowmobiles up north last year, why put the miles on mine... After that 700 miles I was thrilled with the choice I made.

GM means Generic Made!

I always wanted a used trailblazer... but I convinced my girl friend on buying the 2004 TB she has now... so when my 1998 blew up I was looking for a replacement and bought the 2007 xlt.... I still drive her truck from time to time.... but I like mine so much better... down to the ride, comfort and her 4wd sucks total ass next to the RSC trac control I have... I also thought the 4.2I6 was quicker but today I did a 0-60 in hers and it said 10.2 and my 4.0 pulls 9.0's so I guess the added HP and TQ does not mean crap with the added weight... and just from the hell you have to go through just to change a t-stat in the 4.2 I6 "took me 4 hours" I would choose ford all day long "changed housing and t-stat in less than 30 min"

My father has 03 GMC Envoy, and as much I like Tahoe/Yukon line, the Trailblazer/Envoy does not even come close to the Explorer.
It's very low, rides like a boat and I just do not like it.

My mom bought a trailblazer EXT 7 passenger new back in 2004. I couldn't believe how slow it was with the I6 engine. Then I weighed it and I forget what it was. It it was quite heavy. It's had it's share of electrical gremlins over the years, and some of the routine service is next to impossible, but it still runs good now at 240,000 miles. Still original trans. But I still prefer my 2006 Eddie Bauer... I just wish I had the 4.6 like my sister does!
