Having transmission problems. I have read 100s of post. Have they found a fix or answer? Is there a different tranny that will work without all the issues?

What kinds of issues are you having with your 6r60 transmission?

Load roaring from the engine fan (under light load). I’ve read this could be a false overheat signal from the 6R60. I’m trying to find reliable info on this issue...

OK, based on what I'm reading here there is a coolant thermostat on the transmission.

6R60 trans fluid temp ('06-'10 V8 only please)

If that fails, no fluid circulates through the radiator. This can cause the transmission to run hot.

Now, I have also heard of an overactive fan due to air pockets in the cooling system. Bleeding fixes this.

I will doublecheck my shop manuals on the diagnosis once I get back home from my trip.

That would be much appreciated thanks!

had that issue. it was my clutch fan going bad and locking up when it shouldnt. can u free spin your clutch fan? whats your coolant look like?

I did not try the free spin technique. However, what I did is to unplug the signal wire to the fan clutch and it stopped. Coolant looks good and at the right level. I have a constant temperature reading in the dashboard and no spikes.

That would be much appreciated thanks!
Sorry for the delay. Here as the pinpoint diagnostics pages from the service manual.

Essentially it seems the original poster has a problem with his Fan Speed Sensor circuit, his fan clutch, or your PCM. I'm guessing it's the first one, which probably requires a circuit/wire repair or that small harness replaced. But he will need to walk the pinpoint test to make sure.

Check response. Pinpoint test from Ford Manual was posted.

Wow! Thank you very much, this is great! I'll keep you posted...

I can't see clearly the scan of the first page showing the pin id of the fan connector, is this right?
