Hi:

Looking to get my wife a newer explorer, make her current 2002 Eddie our winterbeater and finally sell my original 1991 Explorer (180,000 miles and still going strong)

I found a nice 2008 Eddie Bauer - V8, DVD, Moon Roof, Good Shape, tires 3/8th's worn, 44,000 miles, but hate the Chrome Clad rims...

What do you think it would be worth....
It was built in Aug. 2008, so almost a 2009, so one less winter than some 2008's.

They are asking $22,900, this seems high for this year and mileage.. What would you say a real cash price should be....

Thanks in advance

Keith

PS: Just had a 2010 Eddie for a drive, I found it noisy and liked my 2002 Limited better. I was puzzled by this. The 2008 Eddie was nicer than the 2010 Eddie...Did they pull out a bunch of noise deadening to save weight between the 2008 and 2010's???? Anybody know what the difference would be....

$23k is high for the year/mileage .... cash price on that i would say around $15-$17k tops IMO

I would suggest plugging in the details of the vehicle you are looking at into the Edmunds, Kelly Blue Book and NADA websites and see what they return for private party values. A reasonable price would be an average of the three websites for numbers, or lower, IMO.

I paid around 21k for 50k miles with Navigation, Sync, Moonroof, Reart DVD, Power Everything, Dual AC Auto, Power Running Boards, Power Third Row, and that was around 3 months ago.

Orlando

Just got my wife a 2009 EB 4.0, 4x4, 30,000 miles, tow package, all power etc... Paid $23700.00

Just bought a 2006 Eddie Bauer, 4.0 4x4 Sunroof 77,000 miles,Tow package, $15,300.

Asking price is about right, because they know most will negotiate a discount of 5 to 10%. Assuming it's a dealer and you have good credit, the fact that it's a cash deal (versus credit/auto loan) potentially means less profit for the dealer.

got an 07 bout a year ago with 13000 miles 4.0 eddie for $15,000. I think i got a deal but I would say around 18K would be my limit for the mileage on the vehicle.

Most likely tires/wheels (tire brand/type/profile/air pressure, wheel diameters)

I bought a 2008 Eddie, almost fully loaded (everything but nav) with 32,000 three months ago for 22,000 even

bought my 08 e.b. about a month ago. its loaded. paid 21k and change. about 23k out the door.

I bought my 06 in 07 with 39K miles, loaded with NAV for 20K even.

Last Response from the Dealer

Hi:

Got him down to $22,200 and he will put a Ford Premium Warranty for 3 months, which would cover anything I discover once I get it home.

Anyway, getting closer, but still about $1,000 to high for me...

Two questions:

1) it was built in Aug. 2008, so it was one of the last 2008's built before they started building the 2009's. Up in Canada, this means one less saltly winter than the 2008's built between Sept to Feb. 2007. What should I value a late 2008 model over an early 2008 model ??

2)What should I value a 3 month premium Ford warrany at. Since the main warranty is gone and just the Power Train warranty is left - the 3 month warranty should be worth a few hundred dollars.

Thanks in advance,
