2008 explorer sticking injectors

Ok this is a bit crazy my 08 Explorer started running rough at a stop light a couple weeks ago. SES light came on and I had a number 2 injector code as well as a fuel system rich code I believe . Had a horrible smell of gas like just dumping fuel. Went and cleaned the injectors and the problem went away. Now weeks later once in a while at idle it will run rough and I will get that fuel smell but no ses light. Is there anyone that has heard of these vehicles having sticking injectors ? Sounds like a bad tank of fuel.

Run some seafoam through it. check out the vids in my signature.

not common but it is possible to have a sticking or leaking injector.

4.0 or 4.6l

also if you have a remote start system, most installers tap a injector or cop for rpm signal.

waskly it is a 4.0 no remote start. I don't think it's a case of bad fuel as it was said earlier. It has happened now 3 different times and it just does not feel like bad gas. The fuel smell is like raw fuel being dumped.

i would pick up a ford noid light, unplug the injector, and put in the light, start the vehicle, and see if you have a light flashing on that injector if you do, i would change that injector, if the light dont flash, the wire that powers it or the wire that goes to the pcm is faulty.
