Time to pay the "stupid tax": I parked the tractor next to the wife's Explorer while plowing snow this week, jumped into her car to back it out so I could plow there, swung the front end right across the back blade yanking the lower part of the bumper cover loose on the passenger side, and putting a decent crack in it about halfway across the front.
Thought about taking it to the body shop, but after doing some reading online, looks like I could probably remove it, and replace it, for quite a bit less. Found a replacement online, found out where to buy the paint (I do have some painting experience), and have been trying to research the location and procedure for how to correctly remove the old one, without making more problems than I'm solving.
Looks to be pretty straightforward: Locate the bolts and pins that are holding it, and remove them, but I'm worried about the potential "hidden" ones. Also, I'm not sure about what types (sizes) of fasteners I might need to re-install the new cover. (I'm sure some will be damaged in the removal, and should be replaced with new?)
The cover is "unhooked" from the passenger side fender. It looks like there was a pair of clips that held it tight before, but I don't see them.
Does anyone have a diagram, or parts breakdown, or step by step procedure? I'm used to winging a lot of stuff, but the wife is going to want it done pretty efficiently, and pretty professionally.
Any and all input, suggestions and commentary is greatly appreciated! Thanks.
