The high optioned 95+ trucks have about 140 amp alternators. If you have less options the alternator will be less powerful. I bought a new 170 amp alternator for about $155 on eBay two years ago. It does fine for me with an electric fan and some extra light circuits.
You should use a progressive controller for an electric fan, that can be worth 30 amps easily by itself. Many OEM fans can suck 30-45 amps initially, the controllers make that a smooth rise in power, not shocking the alternator. Good luck,
