2010 Mountaineer manual third row release cable broke.

I have a 2010 Mercury Mountaineer with a manual third row seat. The driver side release cable broke at the handle. I can’t seem to find a part number for a replacement part, would this be a junkyard item? If so what years would be the same. I could also use a diagram or directions on how to remove and replace the cable. Thank I’m advance, Joel.

I would look at what broke and see if something could be rigged up to work as as good, or better, first. This said, it is probably a salvage yard part but there is some old stock in the parts departments of a lot of Ford dealerships. You might find one if you can pinpoint the part number.

Located a replacement cable at the local wrecking yard in a 2007 Explorer. Took about 15 minutes to swap out, I just taped the new cable to the old cable and pulled it through the seat then connected both ends. Now seat release works as it should.
