2010 Adrenalin
Who has updated the speaker system in the late sport tracs? I have a 2010 Adrenalin with the audiophile system - it is really poorly balanced. The treble is tinny and the sub just drones. No good balance with mid level frequencies and the "sound stage" is horrible - like it is coming from your feet.

Maybe I am just too used to the Sony system in our Flex, but I have to say I expected more. I am putting in a factory nav system right now and will address the speakers next. I am contemplating a retrofit of the sony amp and speaker arrangement while I am at it, as the Nav unit is capable of it.

Thinging I will definetely add component system for front doors with tweeters in the mirror sail panels. center speaker might work in the upper dash tray area.

Let me see what others have done!

I have a 2010 xlt with the synch no sub, just basic set up, the radio is ok but the speakers are awful. Sounds muffled. I am putting in 2 Memphis audio coaxials in the front doors and I built a sub box to fit in the compartment behind the drivers side rear seat. I am installing a Memphis audio 10" slim design sub and an Arc amp. I am thinking about getting a Kenwood equalizer. I will see how the new set up sounds before I decide on anything else. The owner of Soundsational here in Indy thinks they sub amp and 2 fronts should do the trick.

I just got the truck and dont even have 500 miles on it yet, nor made a payment so I dont want to swap out from the synch system, I would have loved to had the touch screen set up but bought it for the color choices and not the radio.

Yeah, I bought what I could find, so got the Adrenalin with all but the Nav. I am putting that in now and it is NOT cheap, but will give me all the Sync, Sirius travel link, etc.. Want to keep the Factory head, but must improve the speakers.

Has anyone upgraded to center speaker and / or the Sony amp / sound system from the Edge/ Flex, etc.?? Would be interested in changing the IP top try to a speaker / grill.

Were did you get your Nav system and what was the cost? I also have the Adrenalin and would like to put that system in. It should have came with it in my opinion. Does the system you have play DVD's?

I got the parts from a 2010 Adrenalin in a salvage yard - got ridiculously lucky to find same truck. Still a pain in the ass to piece everything together. I had to get the headunit, amp, Satellite antenna cable / splitter, steering wheel (for rhs switch) and now wiring. I thought with the entire dash harness, I would have what I needed - nope! Also needed a chunk from the RHS body harness. Appearantly the amp plugs to the body harness and then the IP harness into that! So, now need to make a jumper harness myself.

All the re-wiring is for the separate AMP the Nav unit has. The audiophile headunit has the amp built in and the satellite SDARS module separate. On the Nav, it is just the opposite. So, to get this to work, I need to run a wire harness from the headunit to the amp and back up to the IP harness that used to plug into the head unit. Will be real fun...

United Radio in Syracuse, NY makes a kit for this swap. Since you only need the harness it should be cheap. Ask for Ron Bourdon. 1-800-448-0944.

Yeah, I spoke with them. They have a harness, but it requires a different amp. So, I would be $175 with the for those two parts. I think I will try to make the harness next weekend. I should get the final chunk of wiring from the truck on monday or tuesday and I can start to map it out.

Had I known it was going to be this much work or money to get this factory nav in, I would have looked harder to find one with the nav when I bought my truck during the holidays!!!
