Working on my wife's 2008, I found that the passenger axle can be removed by removing the hub, breaking the upper ball joint loose and unbolting the stab link.
Doing the same on the driver's side didn't allow the knuckle to swing out far enough to get the axle out, so I had to take the additional step of unbolting the top of the shock from the shock tower. I tried removing the steering link first, but that was no help and a waste of time.
When unbolting the shock from the tower, make sure you unbolt the three small studs, and not the bigger center one. You probably already knew that, but better safe than sorry.
The suspension in the first video above is not the same as the 2008 Ex (which should match the 2010).
