Tricky question about 4x4 front axle removal and swap

Look at the 700r4 t-case adapter kit.. It's a new extension housing and output shaft. To go 2wd you're going to have to drop out the transmission and have the AA adapter swapped out for a 700r4 2wd tailhousing and output shaft. You can either get a chevy driveshaft and have it modified on the end that goes to the axle or use a 2wd ford d\s and have it modified on the end that bolts to the transmission, either will work. However there is a larger issue. I don't know what chevy uses for the speedometer on vehicles equipped with the 700r4. For all I know it's a tone ring in the axle housing, there may be no provision in the 700r4 for a speedo sensor. Even If there is a speedo sensor in the tailhousing more than likely it will not work with your stock gauge.
