Pardon the rant but I am ticked! Just had my Explorer in twice last week. Once for oil change, once for MFT updates and "anything else that needed to be done". 500 miles away from home and minutes from a niece's wedding, the 2011 Explorer overheated and shut down. So.... did the dealer not know about the overheating issue? We checked our phones and learned about it while we were waiting for help to arrive. Now we're all over the forums to learn about other issues.
There is one problem we have that has consistently been met with "never heard of that before" is with the liftgate. If I'm outside the car with it open and push the button to have it close, it reverses and reopens if I start the vehicle before it latches. This only happens about 30% of the time - and never at the dealership. Another site has two people mentioning the same problem with the "expert" responding that it doesn't happen. Has anyone else had this experience?
