Hi everyone, I'm new here. My 2011 Explorer is making a "growling" sound from the front end when braking at very low speed almost at a complete stop. I can also feel this in my brake pedal. It's very intermittent but happens most of the time.
I've taken off the wheels, inspected the pads and rotors and everything looks perfect. No wear on anything at all. I even cleaned all the brake mounting points with a wire brush as well as the face of the caliper pistons where the pads make contact.
This sound happens at very low speed (1-5 mph) and just before the vehicle comes to a complete stop. Has anyone else encountered this?
Could the issue be something other than brakes? Maybe suspension??
