2014 Explorer Build Sheet

People who do that don't know what they are doing. You can't just upgrade to HID lamps without using a HID reflector or projector lens. If you don't have those, the light shines all over the place and blinds other drivers.

I wish Ford would have the HID option on the Sport. Halogen lamps look dim to me and don't light up the road as well as HID lights.
If that is the case, them why was I so disappointed when I got my Ex. The upgraded halogens I had in my previous Toyota were as good or better than the HID lamps I have now. I do understand that they are apparently better on the 2013 models.

That's strange your HID lamps aren't any better then the halogens in your Toyota. The HID lights on my Focus ST blow away the halogens on my Explorer. There is no comparison. If Ford is using the same HID lights on the Focus ST as the Explorer, they are really good. I regret not getting the package that includes the HID lights on my Explorer.

Are the lamps on the Sport not projector lens headlamps with a halogen bulb?

Yes, the sport has a halogen bulb with a projector lens. All Explorer models have that unless you get the HID option on the Limited.

My comment earlier wasn't referring to the Explorer.
