I have a 2016 Ford Explorer with a manual rear liftgate. I need to replace the supports but I'm not sure of the size.

There are several options at my local Canadian Tire. Is there a specific size or force requirement?

I have found a Strongarm 4419 Universal Lift Support that looks the same. Thought I should check first as they are $30 each.

Thanks ...weegeordie

Here is the diagram with the struts. Perhaps CTC has a cross-reference chart that you can use to find similar parts. Do the existing ones that you have not have a part number on them? Personally, I would get OEM parts. Good luck.

Thanks Peter. I'm not seeing the diagram though

Just a parting note about these parts. I see on the website for Levittown Ford they are listed for USD $38. Here they are listed for CDN $71.

Where did get you the $71 price from?

It's on the invoice from the dealer. It is also the price I was quoted at 2 parts suppliers.
Thank you. I was just curious. Levittown, I believe, sells at 10% over invoice and I think Eastgate Ford in Hamilton does the same. However, when looking up the part number, they show "Discontinued". They showed the same for models up to 2019. For a 2020 XLT the part is listed for $70.92 which is 20% off. So it looks like you did okay on the price all things considered.
