2016 explorer sport TED part

Hey everybody! I've had my 2016 Sport for about 5 months. It being winter in the Northeast I went to use my heated seat. The seat doesn't heat up, only the back. I took it to the dealership & they said it would need a thermo electronic device (ted). They also want $1000 for it. I can't afford that. Does anyone know where I could get one & maybe try to install it myself? Thanks in advance!
