2016 HEATED SEAT DRIVER SIDE DIAGNOSIS

2016 EXPLORER XLT 3.5L
1) Use a multimeter and test for resistance on seat element for both seat and backrest.
a. Grey connectors (probably best to disconnect battery or yellow seat airbag connector first)
2) Test for power on PIN 1 and 2 on heated seat connector underneath driver seat
a. if power check outs then it’s not the module in dashboard (3v to 5 volts on each PIN)
b. u must have resistance on both elements if not replace elements
c. I had no resistance on seat so I replaced cushion and element and problem solved
IF YOU READ "OL" on the multimeter you have no resistance (resistance should be 1.0 to 2.0.

You have to remove seat cover and cushion to make your life easier.
2 torx screws hold the plastic cover on
Remove all black tabs from underneath that hold cover in place to seat frame
There is blue tube that clips into Orange Channel carefully pry out from channel to remove cover from cushion once you have it out of the car.
**Dont rip the orange tabs off the cushion!**
