2016 Explorer Limited
I just took my '16 Limited to the car wash and to be vacuumed. When I got back in to leave, the stereo system was not playing any sound through the speakers. I tried AM, FM, Sirius, and connecting my iPhone via USB and all resulted in nothing. I turned the dial all the way up and no sound at all. Also it seemed like my tones for door ajar, etc. may have been different. Could I have inadvertently hit something while vacuuming that changed a setting or something? Everything was working fine before I went into the wash.

Maybe you hit the mute button? I'd go through the audio settings and check that option out. Even the phone settings may have something to do with it. Just guessing here. :salute:

Where is the mute button? SYNC wasn't even on while I was vacuuming. Everything was different when I started it after vacuuming.

Did you turn the car off with the radio on? If so, try inserting a CD, or hitting the CD eject button.

I brought home a 2016 Explorer Base model the other day, and the radio would not play. I googled it and came up with a thread on this forum from a few years ago with the same issue. That is one of the suggestions in the thread, and it worked for me!

You would think that a few years later, the issue would have bee fixed. :)

My 2014 has done this twice before. Shut off the system. Then turn off the car. Restart the car and turn on the audio system. That worked for me.
