2017 Explorer XLT coolant missing

If I have time I'll post the entire invoice. It adds salt to the wound of this design flaw that Ford has taken zero responsibility for and gladly makes service revenue from post warranty water pump failures.

Waiting to see that invoice. :)

FYI – Taken from the invoice for replacement of water pump, timing chain and components, serpentine belt, spark plugs and oil change. In reviewing the list, it appears that I was charged for two oil filters. This was done quickly therefore there could be an error or two.

It should also be noted that I changed oil and filter about every 4-5k miles and had the coolant flushed and filled at 50k and 100k miles.

^ Add shipping costs but yeah, just another example of hidden profit for shops, to markup parts that much. I've always been opposed to this practice, that if their profit margins are too thin, charge more for labor, open and honest instead of deceit about parts prices.
Remember that Levittown Ford gives members a 50% discount on shipping in addition to lower parts costs.

I was honestly expecting that service to be closer to 5K. 3800 sucks but it's not terrible for what's pretty much 100K miles trouble free and peace of mind.

Finally got it all fixed. The dealer had to shell put about $4100 to replace a bad water pump. Best I can tell from the paperwork, they replaced everything needed as well. They even tossed in a free oil change!

That is pure gold. Good job getting them to cover it. Hopefully 100K trouble free miles.
