2025 Explorer Active - FULLYLOADED

I was right. They downtuned the engine.

It is supposed to spit out 315hp/350tq at least according to ford mustang tuning

So this can easily do 350hp/375+lb if they wanted it to

It did 350 hp in the Focus RS!

I hit 1008 miles so I threw it in sport mode and Wow; this things VERY fast

If the base 2.3L is this powerful the ST must be truly truly incredible

I am literally saving now for a stage 2 bolt on boost kit; I’m guessing stage 1 would kick this up 30-50; and a stage 2 would be 50-100 hp increase. I mean it’s totally arbitrary numbers but I’m basing them on my bmw bolt on kit

But yes when the ECU is soon cracked livernois is gonna get my stage 2 kit savings

And that’s all I’m doing - stock everything - stock headers, intake, gasket, cam/shafts, cat back, - all saying stock

Yes I realize a stage 2 MIGHT require changing some things like if the gear ratios can’t take all that boost THEN i would go with stage 1 - $500 for an extra psi boost for 50hp/tq ??? Why not

We’ll see when livernois does it but I’ll tell you what , the explorer deserves it
LOL. My son gave me a ride in his Family's 2025 ST recently. That thing launches as hard in normal mode as my base 25 Active 2.3 does in sport mode! Then he put it in sport mode and that ST was launching like the souped up 5.0 Mustang my son had a decade ago. Of course, he spent twice as much for the ST as I did my Active. As an old guy with low insurance rates, I am quite happy with the output from the 2.3. I plan to leave it stone stock. IMO Ford did a good job on it.
My Active has 3800 miles on it now. I spent the first 1000 miles around town to let it break in. Then I did an early first oil change with factory filter and full synthetic oil. You could feel the friction in the drive train when it was new. Now it just glides effortlessly everywhere. I love it. Current tank getting 22.5 mpg in mixed driving. I get regular gas at Royal Farms. $2.59/gallon is the best price in town unless you have Kroger points saved up.
The only options on my base Active are the color and 4wd.
I did notice my brakes felt kind of numb when new compared to the XLT AWD Maverick I had before it. After break in, they felt a bit better. They are fine. Appropriate to the car and its duty. Nothing to write home about. My old Maverick and my wife's 2024 Edge were better. I may try bleeding them just to see if it helps. My XLT Mav had low profile Pirelli's and my wife's Edge came with Michelins. That may have something to do with it. The active came with the cheap LT tires. (Hankooks). But they ride better than low profile tires, so I like them fine.

I am thinking of loading an Active as well well sunroof 20" wheels etc becasue I prefer the Actives lighter interior..can I ask..how long did your order take to arrive?
