'21 Explorer Roof Cross Bars

Yours is a 2022? I think you meant 2021. They haven't started production for the 2022 yet although the 2022 Aviator is slated for production on June 1st.

The item is $41.25 less expensive at AutoNation Ford and $51.70 less at Levittown Ford based on Ford Parts price of $275.

Nope. The 2021 is a redesign from the 2020, and the crossbars available for the 2020 will not fit the 2021 or the 2022, and my Explorer is a 2022.

I put the 2020 bars on my 2021 XLT, no issues, fit is perfect.

Can someone please post a close-up picture of how these cross bars attach to the factory roof rails. All the available images I can find appear to show the cross bars attaching to the inboard vertical surface of the factory roof rails but I can't see any way that attachment system would work with the roof rails on my 2021 XLT because there are no obvious provisions for installing bolts or brackets.

They just clamp on. You use an allen wrench to tighten the clamp that pulls up from under the roof rails.
