What's up fellow explorer aficionados I hope you all are having a great year.
About a year ago I bought my current vehicle, an 02' explorer ST 4WD, which is currently running on stock wheels and 265/75r16 All Terrain tires. Thanks to the information available in this forum I was able to do a 1.75'' TT/Shackle lift without a hitch!
The lift and tires looked cool but I need it beefier tires to feel good about myself, so a week ago I bought a set of 285/75r16 Dick Cepek Mud Country tires (they came mounted and balanced), and wheels with these specs;
wheels:
Size: 16x8
Offset: 0mm
Backspacing: 4.53"
Long story short I bolted those 285/75r16's on and and as I was pulling out of the driveway, and turning, I heard this horrible rubbing screech. Well turned out both front tires were rubbing against the sway bars . I took them off and looked for a solution to the problem. So I bought 1.5'' lug-centric wheel spacers hoping they will solve the problem.
My question is, will the 1.5'' spacers solve the problem, and if not, what might another solution.
Thank you
Rafa
