I swapped out my OEM headlights from my 2000 Ford Explorer XLT for some cheap "projector" headlight housings I found on eBAY. They came with halogens so I also modified and converted in some H1 HID headlights into the housings.

Filmed most of the process 2+ years ago and just found the footage once more so tossed them into a YouTube video for anyone interested:

Just curious, but was it worth the upgrade? Does light spread and throw distance improvement slightly or dramatically?

I'm thinking about a set like yours but don't know if they would be a big upgrade over stock.

Yeah, it's def a solid overall improvement. Is it worth all the work? Maybe not, haha. But HIDs are much brighter and cast further and the light output itself looks much cleaner/white over older halogen bulbs and such.
